You thought I forgot didn’t you??  :-)

Once again I am giving you two new desktop calendars for the month of June.. Golden is a Mule deer doe that I spotted on the way home a few days ago.. I was so hoping that she would have a fawn lying in the grass with her, but as hard as I tried.. I could find it through my lens.. My guess is she was just relaxing and enjoying the nice weather for a change..

To get your free desktop calendar featuring “Golden” click HERE and follow the directions..

option 2 is Blue.. a love struck Blue grouse we encountered in the high country.. Our youngest son’s first experience with a “drumming” grouse.. and he was amazed at just how unafraid it was.. and for those of you who would ask.. Yes, I was that close to him.. they become quite territorial in the spring and can be very aggressive..I have been attacked and chased by a few.. This one never got ornery.. but he did follow us across the ridge

~ Thank you .. and I hope you enjoy

Lately it feels like I am not sure if I am coming or going..

I am a type “A” personality and I like everything to be all planned out and organized.. that is how I feel the best..

My husband on the other hand, by complete spontanaity.. so we balance each other out quite well..

Today is our children’s last day of school.. and in a week or so we will be striking out on an adventure to South Texas.

(as soon as the Subaru with the blown engine gets repaired, etc) .

I have “arranged” pasture for our horses, and a man to house sit and watch our animals while we are gone.. but the rest of this little adventure is just

“up in the air” … but strangely.. I am ok with that.. I will be stepping totally out of my element, and away from my mountains..

I have had many people panic when they find out we live here and we see grizzly bear, and wolves and mountain lions..

I just laugh and tell them that I am much more comfortable here than I would be in the city! I was raised in the wilds, for me the mountains mean home.

Anyhow.. we will be spending time in towns that have more people living in them, than there are people in our whole state…

So I am on a mission.. (rather than panic, and hide) I have decided to use this trip as a way to show people, that there is beauty and nature.. no matter where you go in this world..

(“IF” I don’t melt like a chocolate bar from the heat and humidity…:-)

Not sure yet if how much time I will have online~ just going to wing it.. and go with the flow.. but when I have time, and internet access.. I will share with you Natures beauty that I find along the way..

Sea turtles, and sharks, and wild hogs, and armadillo’s (armadillo? sp) and all the other wonderful (and not so wonderful) creatures we find on our journey, that we would not be able to experience here..

Finally finished the FREE May desktop calendars.. again I am offering two options.. feel free to download either one or both.. Click here to download FUZZY~ and for those who are unsure how to set them as backgrounds.. just follow the instructions.. all desktop calendars are FREE so don’t worry about the pay links unless you would like to make a donation..

Again.. the calendars are my way of saying “thank you” to my readers and those who have purchased images..

I am not sure what the rancher is growing in his back field. Went back to be sure that this crazy doe had not been hit by a car and she gave me the peace sign.. all was good, she was just REALLY enjoying the warmth of the sun, and something in her cud.. lol

Woke to more crisp cold temperatures here in the Western United States today.
But the new blanket of white makes it seem, not quite so cold outside..

Stay warm and be safe ~

Summer here in the west slowly drifts away with the cool evening breezes. With the return of the cooler weather, also comes the return of the local wildlife, moving into their Fall patterns. I love this time of year, but know that it is time to once again prepare for the long cold winter months…
