I have heard rumors, and could only imagine what it would look like.. until now..

It is official, I have finally captured a photograph of the shy and sneaky EASTER BUNNY!!

Yes, children.. (and those who are still young enough at heart) It is true.. there really IS an EASTER BUNNY.. he is quite elusive and very hard to see, but if you believe.. and you look hard enough.. you just might spot him as her travels the world inspiring the imaginations of our youth, and maybe trying to put one or two of us into sugar comas..

as for me.. I am off in search of Sasquatch.. or maybe if it snows.. I can find a Yetti..

My Hare Is Frozen

There is a common misconception that me and my kind are unstoppable. Ever since that freekin Energizer scumbag, we have had to live up to the falsehood concerning our status, stamina, and speed! I am only a bunny! I tire easily when chased. I get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Don’t get me wrong, I may be cute, fuzzy and I have these adorable eyes but I am a survivor.

But come on people!!! I am not a superhero! So, next time you see me scurrying for my life and trying to get away from hawks, owls, eagles, fox, coyotes, weasels,wolves, bears, cougars, or any others in a long string of bunny haters. Remember we do go fast when we have to, but we don’t KEEP ON GOING. So give us a break would you, and let a bunny rest once in a while. You will be a better person for it and we will finally be rid of the energizer LIE once and for all.

This photo was taken at the “Dead Indian over look” There is a road through this area that goes through the land where Chief Joseph and his band of Nez Perce Fled the US cavalry}

Sacred ground

Yesterday my husband and I took a horse back ride into a beautiful valley.

As we approached, two eagles soared overhead, one coming from the south and one from the north as if to guard the entrance.

The horses that we rode seemed to sense the power of the area.

This valley has been used by Native American peoples for thousands of years and is considered a sacred site. Although in modern times people have desecrated some of the ancient rock art that is abundant throughout the area, the site still holds great significance for some.

On this sacred ground, etiquette dictates that you should enter with a good heart, and with no ill intentions.

We stopped to let the horses rest and went for a walk to explore an area that we had never been in before.

It was a gorgeous sunny day with temperatures in the 40’s.

This valley is full of birds and fantastic rock pinnacles.

The views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking.
After exploring on foot we located some fantastic ancient pictographs, marveled at the vivid colors that still shine through after all this time, and let our imaginations run as to the stories behind this art.

I came across this normally shy little creature and sat on a rock only feet from this curious little one as he fearlessly inspected me.

After a while and several photographs, we heard something approaching and I watched as he hopped forward a few feet to get a better view of the possible intruder.

When he saw my husband coming back toward us, he looked back at me as if to say thank you for the time that we spent together in silence and disappeared back into his protective haven of rock and brush.
