Say Cheese
Back in the land of internet connections…spent the weekend in the swamps.. and bayous… they are a whole different world..thick and seemingly inpenetrable, but full of live. We saw deer, turkey, several species of lizards, spiders, alligator, birds, birds and more birds, bugs and one very unhappy little snake on a trail through the woods just after dark. Saw sign and scat from wild dogs and raccoon… And as mother Nature does so often, she surprised me with a changing landscape around every turn.. from flat grassy swamp lands.. to tall towering oaks that opened up to a beautiful ocean view.. we had a fantastic time playing in this new land.. could of done with fewer mosquitoes, but they too are a part of life in the bayous.. I am still waiting for the opportunity to photograph an armadillo, wild pigs and javelina. But for today.. I wanted to share with you some alligator photos that I was able to capture.. got to hear one hiss, and even growl.. an amazing and intimidating sound from such a large lizzard.. saw a baby sitting in a small pond next to the road, and watched another swim across a lake, just to come see what we were doing…. my guess is this one has been feed by people and will end up being a danger at some point, as he swam right past a flock of new baby ducks to get to us.. once he/she realized that we weren’t going to give it anything it went away.. only to return a few minutes later when another family came down the trail…

Awesome Stacey, your adventures; story and pictures are so beautiful
